Exciting Stuff !
Every once in a while, we get to work on a
cutting edge project where we use new technology. Or invent a
new way to present information. We showcase some of those
projects here. A note to our competitors: Use these
techniques and technologies! Your customers will love them!
Downtown
Northville, Michigan
The City of Northville is a small, charming
community with a Victorian downtown. Unfortunately, they're
not immune from the competition from shopping malls and big box
stores. They recognized that the internet might provide them
with the means to allow all merchants to collaborate on a single web
destination, the focus being the downtown itself. Going beyond
the typical chamber of commerce website, we developed a flash-based
tour that lets the visitor scroll, er... stroll around the downtown
stopping at various merchants and gathering (or printing)
information such as business hours, location or special promotions.
You can highlight specific types of businesses (such as antique
shops or restaurants) and even visit second or third floor
businesses. Click on the Music button to enjoy some pleasant
tunes while you browse. Future enhancements may include a
window shopping and e-commerce capability. Put on a
comfortable pair of walking shoes and check out the Northville
Downtown Development Authority Website.

Muninet Guide and Review
Rich Ciccarone, publisher of Muninet Guide and
Review, had a vision. He wanted to create an online directory
of official municipal websites. To make it more useful to his
subscribers, he intended to categorize the websites in his link
list. Need to find transportation websites? No problem.
Tourism websites in California? Easy. Municipal Bond
Websites in New York? Simple. The best part, though, is
the part we can't show you. Behind the scenes, we provided the
editor with a way to manage the 8,000 (and counting) sites in the
database. Of course they can add, edit and delete sites.
We also provided a means for splitting and combining categories,
counting the websites in the directory, and deleting categories.
We even provided a tool for checking "Link Rot" in the database.
